Purpose: The purpose of the District 7 Corrections Committee is to bring AA meetings into the jails of Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties. We are the liaison between individual AA members and law enforcement thus enabling us to carry the message to the alcoholic who suffers behind the walls and provide literature to these same men and women.
Scheduling is worked around YOUR busy life. You see what time slots are available and pick as many or as few as you are able to do per week or per month. It can be as many as one or two a week to once a month.
Requirements for Lee County Jail clearance as of 2023 are:
- No felony convictions within 5 years
- No misdemeanor convictions with 3 years
- No conviction for any violent felonies
- No convictions for misdemeanor battery
- No convictions for domestic violence battery
Moore Haven and Hendry County are more lenient.
Your Corrections Committee encourages you to join regardless of your background. We value your experience and can always use you on the Committee in administrative positions.
