Purpose – The Website Committee shall assist Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) in District 7 (service area) in carrying the message of A.A. and providing information about the A.A. Fellowship to the public. The Website shall be a Public Information vehicle of NVI and shall present only publicly available information about A.A. operating within the principles embodied in the Twelve Traditions of A.A.

Responsibilities: 
*
Update and backup the website.
*Keeps track of usage on Google analytics.
*Reports website activity.
*Summary of requests and correspondence.
*Materials posted on District 7 website shall bear only first names and initial of last name.
*The web committee chairperson shall also present a report to the District 7 body during the District 7 Business Meeting: the report will include the username and password to the secure area.
*The website shall be maintained in accordance with the Traditions, The Concepts and District 7 Current Practices.

Scope, Composition, Procedure

Scope:

Content shall include and be limited to:

  • The following AA literature:  12 Steps, 12 Traditions, 12 Concepts:
    A.A. Preamble; “I Am Responsible” and “Declaration of Unity” statement;
  • Information on Area Assemblies, including the upcoming host district’s flyer;
  • Hyperlinks to any AA World Services websites, such as the General Service Offices,     located at www.aa.org; The Grapevine, located at www.aagrapevine.org
  • Anonymous e-mail boxes and addresses of the District 7 Officers and Committee Chairs.
  • Individual pages for any Standing Committees are responsible to submit updated information for their individual pages to the Website Committee;
  • Information on District 7 events, workshops, and activities;
  • Post the scrubbed District 7 minutes and Agenda each month in the password-protected section of the website.
  • Post the updated and scrubbed Current Practices, along with an updated book of motions to the website committee yearly, when submitted to the Website Chair by January 31st by the Current Practices committee..

Composition:

To create a District Standing Committee responsible for the creation and maintenance of the website;   
The Committee Chair shall receive one night’s lodging unless otherwise funded;

Procedure:

In the spirit of cooperation, the Website Committee  would be responsible for preparing a quarterly report to be presented at Area 15’s website committee which shall include:

  • updates to the website
  • website activity
  • summary of requests and correspondence

The Website Chair shall also attend and present a report at the Area 15 quarterly Website Committee meetings.

The website shall be maintained in accordance with the Traditions, the Concepts, and District 7 Current Practices.
